In hand-pelota, Aduna will play at home against Bergara, and despite losing the first leg 2-1, they maintain opportunities for a historic final. Meanwhile, Tolosa will compete in Andoain in pala corta, having won 2-1 in Beotibar, seeking a ticket to the final.
In Aduna, a town of 500 inhabitants, excitement is high with the prospect of reaching the final. Around a hundred residents traveled to Bergara to cheer on the players in the first match, and the Aduna pelota court is expected to be full on Sunday. "For us, reaching the final would be incredible," stated Migel Anjel Zestau, the team's manager. In the cadet category, they won 12-22, lost 22-13 in juniors, and 22-17 in seniors.
Zestau assesses the chances for the return leg at 50%: "We have the ability to turn the tie around, but they are also in a strong position." However, he emphasizes that "we will play in our fronton and have the support of the townspeople." They trail by four points, meaning they need to win two matches and score five more points than their opponents.
In pala corta, Tolosa has the chance to reach its second final, having lost the first in 2019. In the first leg against Andoain, played in Beotibar, they lost 7-20, won 20-12 in pairs, and 20-2 within the 7-point frame, securing a 13-point advantage.
The return jornada will begin on Saturday at 13:00 in the Arrate pelota court in Andoain. "The result achieved in Beotibar gives us an advantage. Even if we win one match in Andoain and lose the other two, we have a good point difference," commented Odei Arregi, a pelotari from Tolosa.
