Rioja Alavesa is preparing to receive approximately 750 seasonal workers for the green pruning campaign starting in May, with the Government Subdelegation and UAGA union organizing an information session in Laguardia to address socio-labor conditions.

The Government Subdelegation in Álava, in conjunction with the UAGA union, has organized an informative session this morning aimed at farmers in Rioja Alavesa. The event will cover key aspects related to the socio-labor conditions of seasonal workers, in anticipation of the green pruning campaign set to begin in May, for which around 750 hirings are projected in the region.
The session, commencing at 10:30 AM at the UAGA union's premises in Laguardia, will feature Miguel Echeazarra, head of the Provincial Inspectorate of Labor and Social Security of Álava. The meeting will particularly focus on the specific hiring requirements for green pruning in vineyards, a crucial stage in the viticultural production cycle.
To this end, legal obligations concerning various matters affecting seasonal agricultural work will be analyzed, including contracts, Social Security, immigration, and risk prevention. The primary goal is to foster safe working environments and ensure compliance with current labor regulations.
The event is designed as a forum for dialogue and clarification of doubts for sector professionals, contributing to improved management of agricultural campaigns and enhanced knowledge of legislation. Through these efforts, the Government Subdelegate in Álava, Mar Dabán, reaffirms the General State Administration's commitment to the primary sector, promoting training and informational initiatives that support both employment quality and occupational health and safety.
