The Paseo of Gernika-Lumo will be transformed into a fashion runway this coming September 25th with the fourth open-air fashion show, Gernika Modan dago. The event aims to highlight the municipality's commerce, hospitality, and services, and this year features a program with more 'glamour' than previous editions, designed for both adults and children to enjoy.
The program will kick off at 4:30 PM with a children's play area and 'hobby horse' activities. Simultaneously, the 'Gernika puntuz-puntu' activity, inspired by artist Yasoi Kusama, will take place. To set the mood, pianist Julio Veiga will perform his 'Piano on the rock' show. Additionally, 'foodtrucks' will be available for food and drinks.
The main fashion show will commence at 7:00 PM. This year, over 30 establishments and more than 100 non-professional models will participate. The event will be hosted by Ainhoa Etxebarria and Ugaitz Alegria, with music provided by Isma Pereira. Two giant screens will be set up to broadcast the show live.
Prior to the fashion show, there will be a dance performance led by Rosa Rementeria, who will also be responsible for preparing the models and managing the parades. Many of the models are students from the Ross Dance School, volunteering to promote local commerce.
Each shop will have four models to showcase their products and will receive a 25 euro voucher for use in local shops during the autumn and winter season. Special guests will include the Gernika Rugby Taldea and its players. Club captain Iker Olaeta expressed his pleasure at the opportunity to participate.
During the event, a special raffle for 1,000 euros will also be held. Customers making purchases at shops associated with the Gernika-Lumo Merchants Association are currently receiving raffle tickets. The sole condition to win the prize is to be present at the Paseo at the time of the draw.
