The new exhibition 'Naturaleza a la deriva' by Getxo-born visual artist and designer Sonia Bouso is captivating audiences at the Larrañazubi environmental classroom until the end of July.

This exhibition features the works of Sonia Bouso, who creates ephemeral compositions and installations based on the principles of ikebana, the traditional Japanese art of arranging flowers and natural elements. These creations are then captured through photography.
The project, displayed in this Getxo space, primarily highlights plant materials collected from local beaches, eroded by the relentless impact of the waves. This natural matter is returned by the sea after being sculpted by its forces. Each crack, knot, and scar tells a story of journeys and, at times, violent encounters with rocks.
Throughout the exhibition, visitors can participate in a collaborative installation, a work that transforms and is transformed by its co-authors. This shared experience explores the intersection of art, nature, and people, emphasizing their interconnectedness. Additionally, on the upcoming 26th, from 12:00 to 13:00, Sonia Bouso herself will lead a guided tour, for which registration will be required.
The exhibition's visiting hours coincide with the environmental classroom's opening hours: from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 15:30 to 17:30 on weekdays, and from 10:00 to 14:00 on weekends and holidays. In parallel, as is customary, this Getxo venue offers various activities. For the upcoming weekend, for example, a workshop to make aromatic lavender sachets and another to craft artisanal beer are scheduled.
