According to the report recently approved by the association's annual assembly, Getxo Enpresa continues to seek strategies and strengths to champion the value of local commerce. Among last year's initiatives, several proposals stood out for energizing Getxo's streets and establishments.
These included the Bota Bertso project, where various bertsolaris recited verses alluding to the distinctive products or services of each business, with a schedule and route that enhanced their visibility. Similarly, Getxo On Air, a project combining podcast and video formats to disseminate natural and intimate interviews, narrating the trajectories of shops, the history behind them, and their products. A Virtual Tour for Businesses was also offered, a digital marketing tool providing customers with a 360º visit inside each establishment.
Established events like Getxo Moda and the Christmas window display competition continued to draw attention, while others, such as the animal friends network, grew in popularity. For this year, the association plans new actions, including Getxo Open Art, a contemporary art festival that will transform shop windows into ephemeral galleries for a month, creating an urban, commercial, accessible, and local artistic route; and Getxo Dastatu Gaur, a digital section promoting hospitality and food businesses through Getxo Enpresa's social media channels.
The budget for the municipality's largest business association, approved by its assembly for 2026, amounts to 684,578 euros. During this meeting, Nuria Barreiros was elected as the new president, who is one of the owners of the fashion store JB Algorta. Jon González (Pantallas Artesanas J46) serves as vice president; Jokin Aresti (Joyería Iñaki e Iñaki BI) as treasurer, and Desirée Yeste (Oku Lounge) as secretary.
Other balance data indicates that Getxo Enpresa managed five training sessions, two networking meetings among associates, sent emails on 66 different topics, handled 112 inquiries about business management, and disseminated information about over 57 businesses on social media. Furthermore, its website experienced growth, with a total of 11,217 new users and 28,275 visits, and its social media profiles (Facebook, Instagram, and X) also increased their brand presence, with 950,000 views and 4,100 interactions. Additionally, the group informed businesses and small enterprises about 36 grants, subsidies, and tenders from various organizations, and facilitated the procedures for 68 of them.
