The Ugao City Council will once again set up a mobile office for ID and passport renewals during the summer months. The service will be available on September 30th, October 29th, November 26th, and December 28th, in the morning, in a vehicle parked in the Herriaren Square. To use the service, citizens must register in advance at the town hall or by calling 946 480 711. As capacity will be limited, the council recommends signing up as soon as possible.
Furthermore, the Ugao Popular Festivals will be held from September 6th to 14th. The program includes numerous activities such as street animation, plays, children's events, bean stew, tributes, gastronomic competitions, concerts, and the 'suzeko zezena' (fire bull), designed for all residents.
Among the festivities, the popular bean stew event on September 14th stands out. Registration to participate will open on September 3rd, from 6:00 PM onwards at the town's fronton. Tickets will cost 20 euros for adults and 12 euros for children.
Additionally, the photographic project ‘Silver Panty’ by local artist Argiñe Ceballos will be presented as part of the traveling exhibition 2026 Ertibil Bizkaia at the Ariz Tower in Basauri, from November 6th to 29th.
In the political sphere, EH Bildu and the PNV have presented proposals regarding the Southern Railway Bypass (HTS) during the municipal plenary session. EH Bildu has requested specific measures to cover or bury the railway, aiming to reduce noise and vibrations and improve quality of life.
