The reorganization and reurbanization works on Txomin Egileor street in Galdakao are nearing completion, and from Tuesday, it will adopt its definitive configuration with one-way traffic towards Basauri from the Plazakoetxe roundabout to Zuhatzu.

This Monday, the asphalt painting will be carried out, and from Tuesday, the street will take on its final layout. As announced by the Galdakao City Council, traffic will be established in a single direction towards Basauri in the section from the Plazakoetxe roundabout to Zuhatzu.
Specifically, during Tuesday, the temporary traffic lights installed during the works will be removed, and drivers must adapt to the new signage, which will permanently prohibit transit in the direction of Galdakao. To access the urban center of Galdakao by vehicle, residents of Txomin Egileor will have to go to the BI-625 road towards Basauri and, from there, join the N-634 in the direction of Galdakao, via the Iru-Bide roundabout.
The Galdabusa will also have to follow this same route, slightly extending its journey but without eliminating any stops. Furthermore, the Bizkaibus lines circulating in the area will move their Zuhatzu stop a few meters towards Basauri, to the Obramat roundabout.
This situation will be temporary, as it is conditioned by the completion of the bridge works that will directly connect Zuhatzu with the N-634. One lane of this infrastructure will open next Friday, April 17, exclusively for vehicles traveling towards the N-634. Therefore, residents of Txomin Egileor who wish to access the urban center will only have to make this detour towards Basauri for three days, until the new connection opens. From that moment, more direct routes will be restored, and accessibility to the urban center will be significantly improved.
The completion of this action marks the culmination of an important project to improve the safety, accessibility, and sustainability of Txomin Egileor street and to advance towards a more efficient mobility model.
