The event was presented today at Euskararen Etxea, with participation from Isaac Amezaga, Director General of Euskera for the Provincial Council of Bizkaia; Aitziber Atorrasagasti, Director of Euskera Promotion at the Vice-Ministry of Language Policy of the Basque Government; Iurdana Acasuso, Director of Azkue Foundation; and Lander Unzueta, a member of the Game Erauntsia association.
The conference will feature four talks and a panel discussion to analyze the diverse fields of Basque video game creation. Translation and the Basque language will be key focuses, alongside the process of creating video game music and soundtracks, drawing and conceptual art, and the working conditions of industry professionals.
A major novelty this year is the 1st Basque Video Game Fair, which will bring together video game studios and creators from the Basque Country to showcase their work. Sixteen exhibition stands will be available to try titles developed in the Basque Country or in Basque. Creators from related fields, such as the Euskal Manganime Community and Rolariak Elkartea, will also participate.
As part of the fair, Game Erauntsia will prepare the Gamer Gela initiative, serving as a showcase for video games in Basque. Additionally, the conference will be available via live streaming on the EiTB website and the YouTube platform.
