The events will take place in public spaces and are open for all interested individuals to observe and participate. The planned schedule includes: Arrankudiaga-Zollo on May 29th (Friday) at 4:00 PM in Elexalde; Urduña on June 5th (Friday) at 11:00 AM in Foru plaza; Orozko on June 6th (Saturday) at 10:30 AM in Zubiaur plaza; and for Etxebarri, on June 8th (Monday) at 11:00 AM in front of the Town Hall (Sabino Arana 1).
These sessions, lasting approximately 2 hours, will allow for the analysis of the content of the residual waste (grey bin). This will help to see how much of the material collected in these bins could be separated for selective collection streams.
During the process, previously collected waste bags will be opened, and materials will be manually sorted into categories such as organic matter, packaging, paper and cardboard, glass, and residual waste, among others. Afterwards, each type of waste will be weighed to obtain data on the percentage of waste that could have been properly recycled.
The initiative aims to bring the reality of the waste we generate daily closer to the citizens and to promote more responsible and sustainable habits. Organizers encourage all citizens to attend the events, observe the process, and participate in this activity of environmental awareness and education.
