PNV confirms first candidates for 2027 municipal elections

Head candidates for municipalities such as Barakaldo, Sestao, and Usansolo have already been announced.

The PNV has begun to confirm its first candidates for the 2027 municipal elections, naming the head candidates in various localities in anticipation of the upcoming electoral cycle.

The year 2027 will be an election year, with municipalities choosing their new mayors on May 23. In this context, the PNV party is already taking the first steps to form its lists, having ratified several candidates.
Among the confirmed candidates, the mayor of Barakaldo, Amaia del Campo, will seek her fourth consecutive term, having been ratified in February. In Sestao, Gorka Álvarez, appointed as the first councilor a year ago, will run for the first time. In Durango, Mayor Mireia Elkoroiribide will repeat her candidacy in what is expected to be one of the tightest contests.
Candidates have also been confirmed in other municipalities such as Arrieta (Aitziber Yarto), Bermeo (Ander Garate), Etxebarri (Eneko Lekue), Galdakao (Javier Zorriketa), Gamiz Fika (Ana Rubio), Garai (Erramun Osa), Maruri (Erlantz Urresti), Meñaka (Mikel Baraizarra), Mungia (Alaitz Erkoreka), Ondarroa (Aitor Basterretxea), Sopuerta (Arantza Mendizabal), Trucíos (José Manuel Coterón), Urduliz (José María Zuazua), and Usansolo (Gorka Arana).
