Osakidetza has vaccinated over 18,500 individuals during its first four-day campaign, marking a substantial rise in both flu and COVID-19 inoculations compared to the previous year.

The txertogunes set up by Osakidetza in Araba, Bizkaia, and Gipuzkoa have administered vaccines to over 18,500 people between Monday, October 19th, and Thursday, October 22nd, averaging more than 4,600 individuals daily. Nearly half of these also received the COVID-19 vaccine, totaling over 18,000 flu doses and nearly 9,000 COVID-19 doses.
Flu vaccinations have surpassed the previous year's campaign for the same period by over 39,000 doses (a 15% increase), while COVID-19 vaccinations have seen an addition of more than 30,000 doses compared to last year (a 20% increase).
As of October 21st, 318,833 flu vaccine doses and 193,489 COVID-19 vaccine doses had been administered in Primary Care. The Department of Health and Osakidetza view the public's response very positively and encourage continued vaccination to prevent severe complications from the flu and COVID-19 and to protect the most vulnerable.
Influenza activity remains low, with 693 flu cases and 92 hospital admissions recorded in Primary Care to date. For COVID-19, 2,107 cases and 436 hospital admissions have been registered.
It is recommended to get vaccinated as soon as possible, as the highest number of flu cases and hospitalizations in the last two years occurred between December and January. Appointments can be made at health centers, or walk-ins are accepted at txertogunes until November 1st.
Osakidetza has administered 21,908 flu vaccine doses to children and 357 to pregnant women. Among Osakidetza professionals, 7,160 doses have been administered.
The txertogunes in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Bilbao, and Donostia are open for walk-in vaccinations until November 1st. Operating hours are from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM in Bilbao and Donostia, and from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM in Vitoria-Gasteiz.
