A Metro Bilbao supervisor was assaulted this Friday morning at Abando station, with security guards successfully detaining the attacker until the Ertzaintza arrived.

The incident occurred at 6:45 AM. The Department of Security confirmed that the assailant is a 26-year-old man, who was subsequently arrested by the Ertzaintza.
It is unclear if the metro employee required medical attention. Around the same time, another incident took place at the Sestao terminal, though it did not involve a physical assault.
Another metro worker received threats from an individual who then left the scene. While this employee suffered no physical harm, this event, combined with the assault at Abando, has caused significant concern among the subway staff.
