The Meatzaldebus service, established to facilitate night transport during the festivities in the municipalities of the Mining Zone, has expanded its capacity to 180 seats this year, following its success in previous editions.

This initiative, launched in 2024 by the local councils of the Mining Zone, aims to alleviate the scarcity of public transport in the region. After a positive reception in previous years, serving over 4,000 users, the service returns with an enhancement: more space. The free night transport service, which typically has a capacity of 150 seats, will now offer 30 additional places; meaning up to 180 passengers can be transported every hour.
The service will commence this weekend with the patron saint festivities of Ortuella and will continue until the end of August with those of Trapagaran. It will maintain the same schedule as last year, with departures at 2:00 AM, 3:00 AM, 4:00 AM, and 5:00 AM. The two color-coded buses will also remain in operation. The bus with a green sign will be designated for returns to the municipalities of Ortuella and Trapagaran, while the orange-colored vehicle will head towards Abanto and Muskiz.

"This is great news for the residents of the Mining Zone because it promotes mobility during hours when public transport is unavailable. Without a doubt, it is the best way to connect our towns and ensure that everyone can return home safely."

As in previous editions, an adapted taxi will be available for people with reduced mobility, which will also cover residents of Zierbena, facilitating their transfers during festive nights.
