A 31-year-old man has been arrested by the Ertzaintza in Bilbao as the alleged perpetrator of a violent robbery and assault. The incident, which occurred on February 15, resulted in the victim sustaining an eye injury and several broken teeth.

According to reports from the Security Department of the Basque Government, the 31-year-old assailant forcefully pushed the 34-year-old victim to the ground as he attempted to enter his home's doorway. The attacker's intention was to steal the victim's mobile phone, causing the aforementioned injuries.

Over the past few weeks, the Ertzaintza maintained an ongoing investigation, which successfully led to the identification of the robbery's perpetrator. The individual has a history of similar offenses, contributing to his identification and subsequent arrest.

This Tuesday, officers responded to a report of an attempted robbery at a commercial establishment in central Bilbao, reportedly committed by the same individual. Police sources indicate that proceedings were initiated against him as a suspect for an alleged theft offense. Furthermore, he was arrested for the crimes of violent robbery and assault related to the events of February 15. After completing the necessary police procedures on Tuesday afternoon, the detainee was placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
