Children in Leioa can enjoy a tailor-made festive day today, thanks to the celebration of Txiki Eguna. This event is part of the town's 500th anniversary celebrations and will take place at Arriena Park, from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM and from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

The park will be transformed into a dynamic and creative space, with activities adapted for all ages, including workshops, games, painting areas, a themed scavenger hunt, and festive events. A highlight is the creation of the “500 begi/500 ojos” camp, where children can color the anniversary eye symbol and then, with the help of family, monitors, and opticians, place them on sticks and plant them in the park.

By the end of the day, a visual space formed by 500 painted eyes placed by the children will have been created. The program also includes workshops on ecological gardens, candle making, and creating figures with natural materials, aiming to foster learning through play and creativity.

Additionally, a “Secret Mission” escape room-style activity will be organized, where participants must overcome challenges related to planet care, accompanied by a fictional character. The festive atmosphere will be completed with the distribution of 500 boxes of popcorn and a disco party starting at 7:00 PM. At the park entrance, “Begitxu,” the anniversary information van, will be set up alongside a photographic space allowing citizens to participate in the community mural “Miradas del Presente,” where Leioa residents can contribute their portraits. The photographer will be available in the afternoon, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
