The Kukullaga neighborhood in Etxebarri is celebrating its festivals from September 11-13, marking the beginning of the school year. These events are designed to offer music, a family-friendly atmosphere, and promote tolerance, with activities for all audiences.
New additions this year include a food truck area, a family gymkhana, and a vertical garden workshop. These activities will complement the usual gastronomic contests (pucheras, paella, popular dinners) and games and inflatables for children, providing a full weekend of entertainment without needing to leave Etxebarri.
The organization of the festivals has been made possible by the work and involvement of the festival commission, composed of volunteer residents from the municipality, who have designed open, diverse, and inclusive celebrations. Their often unseen efforts are crucial for the success of these festivities, intended for collective enjoyment.
Regarding security, the City Council has reinforced the deployment, particularly on the two nights, and coordination between the Local Police and the Ertzaintza will be intensified. The aim is to prevent public disorder and ensure a festive atmosphere free from violence.
Furthermore, the protocol for the prevention and action against sexist aggressions will be activated once again. Organizers will serve as reference points and will receive specific training to intervene in situations of violence, thereby guaranteeing safe leisure spaces.
In terms of accessibility and mobility, the festival area will be centered around the parking lot in the lower part of Avenida de San Antonio and the main square. The City Council invites all citizens to enjoy the festivals with respect, joy, and mutual care.
