The Getxo City Council has announced 336 available places for its summer camps, which will be completely free for the first time this year, targeting children aged 5 to 12 who are registered residents of the municipality.

The summer camps in Getxo are introducing a significant change this year: they will be entirely free of charge. This initiative, promoted by the Youth department, also expands its capacity to 336 places, 20 more than in the previous edition, with the aim of reaching a greater number of families. The activity is designed for children between 5 and 12 years old, provided they are registered in the locality.

"The elimination of costs represents a decisive step forward in guaranteeing equitable access to educational and leisure alternatives during the summer period."

The program will run throughout July in the schools of Geroa ikastola, Juan Bautista Zabala, and Romo. Two fortnightly shifts have been established: the first from June 29 to July 10; the second from July 13 to 24. Each period will include four complementary outings, scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Furthermore, to facilitate work-life balance, greater flexibility has been introduced this year in access times. Entries can be made between 08:00 and 09:00, with intermediate slots, while pick-up is set at 14:00 or 17:00 if the dining service is chosen.
Applications can be submitted from May 4 to 17, either through the municipal electronic headquarters or at the Citizen Service Offices. The list of admitted participants will be announced on May 22.
