Loiu Festivals: Football, Gastronomy, and Music from September 4th to 6th

The municipality has prepared a full weekend program, including tournaments, gastronomic competitions, and parties.

Loiu will celebrate its festivals from September 4th to 6th, featuring an extensive weekend program.

On Friday, September 4th, the festivities will kick off at 6:00 PM with the Chupinazo (opening rocket). Following this, a triangular football tournament will be held between C.D. LOIU, APURTUARTE CLUB, and GATIKA K.T. Children's games will be provided by Biribil Zirkoa. In the evening, at 9:30 PM, the Tortilla Competition will be presented, and later, at 11:30 PM, DJ Vithy's mobile disco will liven up the night.
On Saturday, September 5th, a popular meal will be held at 2:30 PM, followed by Mus, Tute, and Brisca tournaments for those who participated in the meal. In the afternoon, at 5:00 PM, pelota (Basque handball) tournaments will take place, and at 6:00 PM, there will be karaoke. A Talo workshop for children is scheduled for 7:00 PM. At 10:00 PM, the Costume Contest will be held, and at 11:00 PM, the party will continue with Edu and Tara's mobile disco.
On Sunday, September 6th, at 11:30 AM, a mass and aurresku (traditional Basque dance) will be held in memory of the neighborhood's deceased. Afterwards, at 12:30 PM, there will be a tribute and lunch for the elderly residents. At 1:00 PM, Euskal Dantzak Gorantzaileak Dantza Taldea will perform traditional Basque dances. At midday, two significant gastronomic competitions will be presented: at 2:00 PM, the 35th Pepper Competition will be introduced using clay pots, and from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, the 16th Paella Competition will be presented. In the afternoon, at 4:30 PM, there will be a foam party, and at 5:30 PM, a mobile disco for children, youth, and seniors, offered by Dantzako Presteak. At 7:00 PM, there will be bingo, and at 8:00 PM, the festivals will conclude with a hot chocolate.
Throughout the festivals, on Sunday morning, inflatables will be available from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Rules for the gastronomic competitions have been specified: tortillas, peppers, and paellas must be prepared within the festival grounds.
