The ELA union has announced an indefinite strike at Avanza Movilidad Gipuzkoa due to the non-compliance with a pre-agreement reached last October with the mediation of the Basque Government, affecting key bus lines in Bilbao, Donostia, and Gasteiz.
Although the start date for the indefinite strike has not yet been specified, it would impact lines between Bilbao, Donostia, and Gasteiz, all services in Debagoiena, and the Loiu-Arrasate, Loiu-Donostia, and Loiu-Gasteiz routes.

"Although it was stated last October that the labor dispute was resolved and workers' conditions would improve, ELA claims this is not the case. As of today, they state there is no agreement in Avanza Movilidad Gipuzkoa and the labor dispute remains 'completely open'."
According to the union, a meeting held on April 15 with the Basque Government made it clear that the company has no intention of ratifying the pre-agreement under the agreed conditions. On the contrary, they allege that the company intends to unilaterally modify what was agreed upon during the mediation process.

"It became clear there that the company has no intention whatsoever of ratifying the pre-agreement under the conditions agreed in the company agreement. On the contrary, it intends to unilaterally modify what was agreed in the mediation process."
ELA has described this situation as being of "extreme gravity", given that the company has decided to breach an agreement reached under the mediation of the Basque Government and with the guarantee of the Deputy Ministry of Labor. Therefore, they have sought to inform both the public and the Provincial Council that there is no agreement, no accord, and the labor dispute remains active.
In light of this situation, ELA has stated that it will promote an indefinite strike, "based on the demands put forward in July 2025, until a dignified agreement for the entire workforce is guaranteed".
