Researchers Nahia Idoiaga and Idoia Legorburu presented the results of the European EmTech4HE project at the Faculty of Education of Bilbao, focusing on teacher training.

At the Faculty of Education of Bilbao, lead researchers Nahia Idoiaga and Idoia Legorburu presented the main results of the European EmTech4HE project. This project, developed within the Erasmus+ program, aims to improve teaching and learning by promoting the effective, critical, and pedagogically sound use of emerging technologies.
During the event, Carlos de Aldama, a professor from the Complutense University of Madrid, delivered a lecture on the pedagogical perspective of using new technologies. The day also served as a platform to foster the exchange of experiences and debate among faculty members.
As a result of this work, 19 training modules have been developed on artificial intelligence and extended reality. These materials, aimed at university teaching staff, are designed for flexible use, allowing each educator to learn at their own pace and according to their needs. They will be available on the project's website.
The training goes beyond theory, offering practical activities, self-assessment exercises, compilations of digital tools, usage examples, and supplementary readings, with the goal of enabling faculty to apply their acquired knowledge in their daily practice.
Nahia Idoiaga highlighted the positive assessment of the work: "On one hand, we have developed specific resources for teacher training; on the other, we have strengthened collaboration between universities from different countries." She added, "The use of technology, by itself, does not guarantee the quality of education. The most important thing is not to use a new tool, but to reflect on why, how, and under what conditions we employ it. Therefore, teacher training and pedagogical criteria are fundamental."
The event on October 14th served to present and disseminate the final results of the EmTech4HE project. However, the project's completion does not mean the work ends there. Moving forward, reflection will be necessary within the EHU, particularly in the Faculty of Education, to determine the continuity of the knowledge and resources developed.
