The Galdakao City Council will take the next steps to renovate Maximo Moreno park, following the pacification of Txomin Egileor street. The goal is to transform the park once again into a meeting point for citizens, by renewing urban furniture, installing children's areas, and creating a more pleasant environment.
According to Mayor Iñigo Arriandiaga, benches, green areas, and sidewalks will be renovated, creating a new zone for families and children to enjoy. The Council has not specified exact timelines for the project but has indicated they will try to make it a reality in the coming months.
The proposal to renovate the park is not new; citizens and political groups have criticized its neglect over recent decades. EH Bildu, Usansolo Herria, and Auzoake included the adaptation of the park and the Ibaizabal riverbank in their 2023-2027 Government Plan, and after renovating the riverbank, the park is the next challenge.
