The Mayor of Bilbao, Juan Mari Aburto, accompanied by the councilwoman for Youth and Sport, Itxaso Erroteta, presented a new trainera to the Club Deustu Arraun Taldea this Wednesday afternoon at the municipal rowing pavilion in San Inazio for competition in the ACT league.
The mayor highlighted the shared commitment to the club's sporting project and aspirations. The club will compete in the ARC-1 league in the men's category and in the ETE League for women this season.
The boat, a traditional 12-meter long, 200-kilogram rowing vessel, is constructed from carbon fiber and epoxy resins and is homologated for top-tier rowing competitions.
The trainera was built at the historic shipyards in Orio, which specialize in crafting these boats, and most vessels participating in major regattas originate from this shipyard.
