The Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa (BOS) has announced a conductor change for its October 15-16 program. Juanjo Mena is unable to conduct due to health reasons and will be replaced by his brother, Carlos Mena.

Maestro Juanjo Mena has informed the BOS (Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa) that, due to health reasons, he will be unable to conduct program nº 3, scheduled for October 15 and 16.
This program was conceived as a tribute and expression of gratitude for his nine years leading the Orchestra, a pivotal period in the BOS's artistic growth.
Taking his place will be Carlos Mena, Juanjo Mena's brother and a frequent collaborator with the BOS, with whom he has performed in numerous concerts as both a countertenor and a conductor.
The program, which will also feature Bilbao-born cellist Asier Polo as soloist, will fully retain its character as a tribute and thank you to maestro Juanjo Mena.
The BOS extends its warmest regards, gratitude, and support to Juanjo Mena.
The revised program is as follows:
J. Guridi: El caserío, prelude to Act II
C.P.E. Bach: Cello Concerto, Strings, and Continuo in A Major
G. Fauré: Elegy
W.A. Mozart: Symphony No. 40
Asier Polo, cello
Carlos Mena, conductor
