Bilbao's Kirikiño Plaza was filled yesterday with the aroma of freshly baked bread and lively community participation, marking the successful conclusion of the Bread Festival in the Irala and Ametzola neighborhoods.

The inviting aroma of freshly baked bread and the vibrant buzz of community engagement filled Kirikiño Plaza yesterday, located in the heart of Irala. The Bread Festival successfully concluded a week of intense community activity in Bilbao's Irala and Ametzola neighborhoods, establishing itself as a space where Bilbao's diversity gathers to strengthen its bonds.
This event, supported by the Bilbao City Council, is the result of a collaborative effort between associations and residents within the 'Auzoak Abian' Intercultural Community Process. This initiative works hand-in-hand with the Gazteleku Community Development association and receives support from the "la Caixa" Foundation.
Although bread was the central theme, Saturday's event went beyond gastronomy. Attendees were able to enjoy an exhibition of breads originating from various corners of the globe, reflecting the multicultural reality of Bilbao's neighborhoods. Additionally, intergenerational activities were organized, bringing together the youngest residents with the elders of the community.
