The mayor of Bilbao returned to public life this Saturday, marking his first appearance since undergoing hip surgery on March 9. His reappearance coincided with the celebration of Alderdikide Eguna in the Bizkaia capital.
Municipal sources emphasized that the mayor's presence was in his capacity as a party member, not an institutional engagement. Nevertheless, it signifies his return after several months of absence due to health reasons.

During the event, the president of the BBB dedicated the initial part of his speech to the mayor. He mentioned having spoken with the mayor by phone to ascertain his attendance, expressing gratitude for his effort to be there.
The nationalist leader added that he and the rest of his party are "by his side" and expressed satisfaction with the mayor's swift recovery. He conveyed hopes of seeing him back at the City Hall soon and extended the applause and affection of all attendees.
