Bilbao's municipal swimming pool network has launched its summer operations, implementing capacity control measures to manage high user turnout during periods of extreme heat.

Facilities managed by Bilbao Kirolak keep the outdoor pools at Artxanda, Errekalde, and Txurdinaga open until September 13, with the exception of August 28. Opening hours are from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM in June, July, and August, and until 8:00 PM in September.
Throughout July and August, the Zorrotza and San Inazio centers will operate as leisure pools from Monday to Sunday, between 10:00 AM and 9:00 PM. However, San Inazio will close starting August 17 to undergo annual technical maintenance.
To comply with current regulations, Bilbao Kirolak will temporarily close access once the maximum permitted capacity is reached at any facility. Each site has specific limits for both the solarium and the pool areas to ensure safety standards are maintained.
