Vueling launched its direct flight service from Bilbao Airport to Edinburgh on March 28, offering two weekly frequencies on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The airline stated that this route was planned with this schedule from its inception.
However, as indicated on the airline's website, there will be a pause in this direct connection starting from mid-June, with services set to resume in mid-September. The last flight before this interruption is scheduled for June 13, after which the connection will be temporarily suspended for the summer months.
Operations will restart on September 16, when direct flights between Bilbao and the Scottish capital will be scheduled again. Nevertheless, this reactivation will also be limited in duration. Specifically, the last direct flight planned within this schedule will be on Saturday, October 24, at which point the air connection between the two cities will conclude once more for the time being.
Following the pause in the Edinburgh route, Bilbao Airport will introduce a direct route to Split, Croatia, starting from June 16. This new connection will also offer two weekly flights, on Tuesdays and Sundays, allowing travelers to "enjoy the Dalmatian coast and one of the most sought-after Mediterranean destinations during the summer".
