Basauri will celebrate the 54th edition of the Euskal Herria Dance Festival this weekend. The events will kick off on Friday, September 18th, with workshops, a chorizo tasting with cider, and a popular romería at the Solobarria tent. Basauri Kantari will also take place from Solobarria square.
On Saturday, September 19th, the main performance will be held at Bizkotxalde park at 7:00 PM. This year, the invited groups include the Iekorako Dance Group (Álava), Iremiñe (Berriz, Bizkaia), Gure Kai (Deba, Gipuzkoa), the San Lorenzo Dantzarien Kofradia (Pamplona, Navarra), and the Luzaideko Bolantak (Luzaide, Navarra). In case of rain, the show will move to the Social Antzokia, with free admission.
On Sunday, September 20th, the three Basauri dance groups, Agintzari, Basauritar, and Edurre, will present their performances at Bizkotxalde park, also at 7:00 PM. If it rains, the performance will be held at the Social Antzokia.
The organizers have highlighted that the Iekorako Dance Group and the Iremiñe Dance Group of Berriz are returning to the Euskal Herria Dance Festival after more than twenty years.
