The Karmenak festivities in Barakaldo, scheduled from July 11 to 19, are set to fill the town with joy and revelry. To capture this festive spirit, the Barakaldo City Council has announced a poster competition, and the submission period is now open. Designers have until May 15 to present their artistic proposals, aiming for their design to become the official image of the celebrations.
The theme for the poster is open, but it is an essential requirement that the artwork includes the text “Barakaldoko Karmenak 2026 Uztailak 11-19 de Julio”. Participants must submit their proposals mounted on foam board, without glass, in color, and in a vertical orientation, measuring 70x50 centimeters. Additionally, a USB drive containing three digital versions of the poster must be attached: a 200 kb .jpg file, another 1 mb .jpg file, and finally, a high-resolution PDF file with the final print size.
Proposals can be submitted at the Municipal Department of Culture, Youth, and Sports, located on the ground floor of the city hall, between 09:00 and 14:00 hours. The winning poster will be selected by an expert jury and through popular vote, with each contributing 50% to the final decision. The designer of the chosen poster will receive a prize of 1,000 euros.
