Astelarra-Zabala and Libois-Ibarluzea Reach Bilbao Iron Cup Preliminary Final

Both pairs secured significant victories at the Club Deportivo fronton, earning points for the Jai Alai League circuit.

The pairs Astelarra-Zabala and Libois-Ibarluzea have qualified for the preliminary final of the Bilbao Iron Cup, a scoring event for the Jai Alai League circuit, after securing victories in their respective matches at the Club Deportivo fronton.

The first pair, Astelarra-Zabala, had to work hard in their initial match, which concluded with a tight 15-8, 12-15, and 5-3 scoreline. In this encounter, the performance of young Eñaut Astelarra from Gernika stood out, showing no signs of inexperience in his elite debut. The company Eraman! Jai Alai has positively evaluated his first appearance, demonstrating good form against Clement Garcia from Lapurdi and Ortzi Argoitia from Berriatua.
In the second match, the Libois-Ibarluzea pair decisively defeated Laduche-Del Río with scores of 5-15 and 11-15. Emeric Libois from Bidarte and Ibarluzea from Markina-Xemein displayed great seriousness in their play, with the latter delivering an outstanding performance against a powerful combination.
The preliminary final will take place on Saturday at the Club Deportivo fronton. The event will commence at 7:00 PM with two preliminary matches of the women's tournament, while the final between Astelarra-Zabala and Libois-Ibarluzea will be the third match on the schedule. The Bilbao Iron Cup will be presented this Tuesday at the competition venue.
