Lazkao festivities kick off on April 24 with extensive program

The San Prudentzio and Lazkaomendi festivals, organized by Lazkao Town Council and local associations, will run until May 1.

The Lazkao Town Council, in collaboration with the Festival Committee and various local associations, has unveiled the extensive program for the San Prudentzio and Lazkaomendi festivals, scheduled to take place from April 24 to May 1.

This year, Lazkao Ikastola will have the honor of launching the txupinazo, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Kilometroak festival, which will be held in Lazkao on October 4. This event will mark the beginning of the festivities, bringing the community together.

The program offers a wide range of activities for residents of all ages. On April 24, after the txupinazo, the Jundajo txaranga and the Lazkao giants and big-heads troupe will liven up the streets. In the evening, there will be a concert by Joselu anaiak.
On April 25, the 83rd Lazkao Cycling Race will be held, followed by concerts from Jonkass and Muxutruk in the afternoon. April 26's program includes a craft market, a measured walk, and the Suthai batukada, among others. April 28, San Prudentzio day, will be celebrated with a procession, main mass, and the authorities' soka dantza.
April 29 will be Children's Day, featuring inflatables, a children's meal, and a set by Dj Oizeder Mayo. On April 30, Squad Day will be celebrated with the Incansables txaranga and concerts by bengo and Mirua. The festivities will conclude on May 1 with the San Prudentzio Swimming Award, a codfish competition, and a rural sports exhibition.
Furthermore, the Lazkao txosna committee has also organized its own program, with alternative concerts and events. From May 8 to 10, the Lazkaomendi festivals will take place, featuring a cycling race, mus championship, rural sports challenge, and various musical performances.
