The Bertso Week organized by the Motxian-Etxebeltz bertso group of Zarautz begins today, Thursday, at 10:00 PM, with a musical bertso performance in the Torre Luzea park. Several young bertsolaris from the town will participate.
The program continues on Friday at the Frontoi Txiki, at 6:30 PM, with a bertso-pelota session. Youngsters from the local Motxian-Etxebeltz school will compete against those from Urretxu-Zumarraga, in both bertso and pelota.
Also on Friday, at 10:00 PM, a bertso challenge will take place in the Torre Luzea park (or in the Market Square if it rains). Bertsolaris Adei Urbitarte, Hodei Iruretagoiena, and Urko Arakistain from the Motxian-Etxebeltz group will face Uxue Fernandez, Beñat Torres, and Antton Fernandez from the Urretxu-Zumarraga bertso school. Onintza Gartzia and Manu Goiogana will serve as presenters.
Bertso Week concludes on Saturday with the 'Bertso-Eguna' (Bertso Day). At 10:30 AM, in the Musika-plaza, there will be a hamaiketako (mid-morning snack), followed by Txepelketa and lunch at the Urpekoak association.
All bertso enthusiasts are invited.
