Sunday marked a significant day for adapted pelota in Zumarraga. The Beloki fronton successfully hosted the finals of the Gipuzkoa Open, characterized by a vibrant atmosphere in the stands and an impressive level of play on the court.
Competitors vied in several categories. In the initiation category for individuals with intellectual disabilities, Unai Dios and Daniel Calviño emerged as champions, defeating Joel García and Tanya Fernández. In the main intellectual disability category, Lander Ortega and Eneko Sagarmendi triumphed over Hodei Asteasu and Xabat Askasibar. Finally, in the wheelchair physical disability category, Aingeru Senperena and Beñat Lizaso secured victory against Joseba Lasa and Edorta de Anta in a high-voltage match that ended with a close 25-21 score.
Zumarraga continues to advance in its commitment to an inclusive municipality model, where sport is a tool at the service of all people.
