Second Phase of Gipuzkoa Bertsolari Championship Kicks Off in Zaldibia and Azpeitia

Regional teams will compete in the quarter-finals, with tickets already available for purchase online.

The second phase of the Gipuzkoa Inter-village Bertsolari Championship is set to begin next weekend in Zaldibia and Azpeitia, with tickets already available for purchase on the bertsosarrerak.eus website.

As announced by Bertsozale Elkartea, each region will have one representative in the quarter-finals of the championship. Participating teams include Boskatu from Alegia for Tolosaldea, Zumarraga Urretxu 1 for Goierri, Zaharrak Berri from Azpeitia for Urola, Allepunta from Zarautz for Urola Kosta, Hernani for Buruntzaldea, Txingudi A from Irun for Donostia-Oarso-Bidasoa, Leintz for Debagoiena, and Xarmaginak for Debabarrena.
The second phase will commence on Friday, April 17, at 7:00 PM at the Zaldibia cultural center, with the elimination round between Boskatu and Zumarraga Urretxu 1. On Saturday, April 18, Zaharrak Berri and Allepunta will perform in Azpeitia.
The sessions for the second weekend will take place on April 24 and 25 in Hernani and Soraluze, respectively. The first will feature Hernani and Txingudi A, while the second will see Leintz and Xarmaginak. The semi-finals are scheduled for May 9 and May 16, with the Aia final on May 30.
In other news, Euskaltzaindia has organized a theater evening in Baiona for Friday, April 17, in collaboration with Herriko Etxea and Euskararen Erakunde Publikoa. Two performances will be offered at the Biltxoko space, starting at 7:00 PM, with free admission until full capacity is reached.
The Gehibat company will stage Zaku berekoak, written by Xabin Fernandez, who will also act in the play. Additionally, Pantzo Hirigarai, Mizel Sarratia, Beñat Bidegain, Peio Larre, Armand Jaunarena, and Anje Duhalde will present Hautagaia, based on a text by Pantzo Hirigarai.
