Last Sunday, April 13, the Spring Rally gathered 36 photographers in Azpeitia, coming from towns such as Ondarroa, Burlada, Errenteria, Idiazabal, Zumarraga, Arroa, Zarautz, Legazpi, Ordizia, Durango, Donostia, Tolosa, and Irun. This year's edition saw a record number of female participants, with ten women taking part.
As in previous years, photographers had to complete a route within Azpeitia itself, capturing images on various themes: Spring, Sport, Clock, Board Games (chess, parcheesi, cards, etc.), and Piqued Composition.
The judging panel, composed of Pilar Aguado, Carlos Mediavilla, and Iñaki Etxenagusia, after viewing and scoring the collections of the photographers who participated in this year's spring photo rally, made the following decision.
The jury has decided that Iñigo Olarte is the winner of the best collection, receiving a prize of 150 euros and an Azpeitia bowl. The second prize went to Jon Esnaola (120 euros and a trophy), and the third to Igor Froilan (90 euros and a trophy). The first local photographer not awarded a prize was Juan Carlos del Pozo, who will receive 70 euros and a trophy. The award for the best photograph of the rally went to Patxi Irazabal, who secured 50 euros and a trophy.
The awards ceremony will take place at the headquarters of the Azpeitia Photographic Association, in the Dinamoa Kultur Gunea (Soreasu), on April 16, at 9:00 PM. The winning collections are available for viewing in the Activities/Rallies section of the Azpeitia Photographic Association's website.
