Born in Ataun and a resident of Beasain, he developed an extensive professional career linked to the Gipuzkoan cooperative movement and the promotion of knowledge, innovation, and business management.
An industrial engineer by training, he began his career at Ampo and later held various responsibilities within the Mondragon Corporation. He was one of the driving forces behind the LKS group, the Knowledge Cluster, and the MIK research center, as well as participating in the development of Mondragon University and several technology centers.
He combined his managerial work with reflection and research in areas such as business strategy, innovation, competitiveness, and management models, on which he published various works and papers. He also served as an associate professor at the universities of Deusto, Lancaster, and Mondragon University.
Dorronsoro served as president of Eusko Ikaskuntza from 2013 to 2020 and, in recognition of his career, was appointed an honorary member of Jakiunde in 2021.
During his tenure leading Eusko Ikaskuntza, he advocated for the role of organized civil society as a driver of social reflection and innovation, a vision closely aligned with his previous experience in Basque cooperativism.
