Last week, elected women in Ordizia participated in a Basqueskola meeting to address the violence and sexism they experience in politics, fostering reflection and the exchange of experiences.

Elected women from Ordizia's municipal corporation participated last week in a Basqueskola meeting. The session aimed to address the violence and sexism experienced by women in local politics, creating a space for reflection and the exchange of experiences regarding their realities.
The meeting took place in the plenary hall of the Town Hall, where an “enriching space for listening and shared reflection” was created. The importance of continuing to promote the presence and empowerment of women in local politics was highlighted. Participants shared limiting situations, difficulties, and normalized attitudes they have experienced both within political parties and in the exercise of institutional politics. They also reflected on the strengths and strategies they have developed from individual and collective experience.
The session was facilitated by members of Basqueskola with the aim of strengthening training, support, and networking spaces among elected women. Virginia Woolf Basqueskola is an initiative aimed at mayors and councilwomen of the CAPV, promoted by EUDEL and Emakunde, with the purpose of fostering women's empowerment as a strategy to advance towards equality, offering tools for personal and collective development based on shared experience.
