The Beasain Local Police will initiate a new speed control campaign next week. As reported by the City Council, measurement devices and speed cameras will be deployed in several areas to ensure drivers adhere to the set limits and to identify excessive speeds.
If violations are detected, the corresponding sanctions will be applied. The primary objective of this campaign is to prioritize people's safety, while also aiming to balance the traditional prominence of motor vehicles by providing a safer space for pedestrians, cyclists, and personal mobility devices.
Beasain is defined as a 30 km/h city; the general maximum speed is 30 km/h on urban roads, but in areas where the roadway and sidewalk are integrated into a single platform, the maximum speed is 20 km/h.
