The Beasain Town Council has organized a special tribute before the start of the Loinatz Jaiak, to recognize the career and sporting success of two notable Real Sociedad players. This event will take place on Friday, May 13, honoring footballers who serve as role models for many young fans in the town.
The celebration will begin at 5:15 PM in San Martín de Loinaz square, where the footballers will arrive accompanied by the Copa trophy. Players from the children's categories of Beasain KE will form a guard of honor to the entrance of the Town Hall. Minutes later, at 5:30 PM, the official reception will be held in the Municipal Plenary Hall. The Mayor of Beasain will offer an institutional welcome, and they will receive the traditional festival scarf and several commemorative gifts.
The most anticipated moment will arrive at 5:45 PM, when the footballers will step out onto the main balcony of the Town Hall to offer the Copa del Rey to the residents of Beasain. This symbolic gesture aims to share Real Sociedad's recent success with the local community. Following this tribute, the Loinatz Jaiak will officially commence at 6:00 PM, with the proclamation and the traditional children's txupinazo.
This year, the students from La Salle will be central to the txupinazo, having won the children's festival poster competition. These students will be responsible for initiating the festivities from the Town Hall balcony, accompanied by representatives from other schools in Beasain. The main festival poster, meanwhile, has been created by a local artist.
The festive atmosphere will, however, begin earlier in the afternoon. At 4:30 PM, San Martín de Loinaz square will host a Chess Simultaneous Championship. After the txupinazo, the town's streets will fill with music and color with the parade of giants and big-heads. The program will continue at 6:30 PM with the finals of the III Sasipelotaris Championship at the Gernika promenade fronton, while at 7:00 PM, a txistorrada will take place in Zubimusu square. Later in the evening, at 10:00 PM, the Joaldunak will begin their procession. Subsequently, at 10:30 PM, one of the most special moments of the festivities will arrive: the traditional Descent of Mari, which will be broadcast live on the municipal Youtube channel.
