Arnau Elgarresta Cliville, a filmmaker from Ataun, will premiere his short film Ortzian hegan at the Ataun town theater on April 15, offering a unique visual journey through the local landscapes.

The presentation of Ortzian hegan, a short film by Arnau Elgarresta Cliville from Ataun, is scheduled for tomorrow, April 15, at 6:30 PM at the Ataun town theater. The author emphasized that this audiovisual piece captures a “visual history” of Ataun's landscapes, highlighting its geological components. As an example, he cited the Domo de Ataun, one of the most peculiar geological structures in the area.
As Elgarresta explained to GOIERRIKO HITZA, the main goal of the documentary is to showcase the current appearance of Ataun's surroundings. Therefore, this minimalist work exclusively uses images and music to allow the landscapes to be “fully appreciated.” The creator has described the short film Ortzian hegan as a “romanticization of Ataun.”

"This video combines images taken with a camera from the ground and those obtained via drone."

The project originated at the request of the cultural organization Atauniker, whose members asked Elgarresta to create a video showing Ataun from the air. The author stressed that these images are exclusive, as they had “never” been captured in this manner before. He also added that images of some locations can only be obtained using a drone, thus combining ground-level and aerial footage.
