Twelve Basque Farmhouses in Gipuzkoa to Open Doors for 'Ongi etorri baserrira!' Event

The 'Ongi etorri baserrira!' program, organized by the agrarian association Enba, aims to bridge the gap between rural and urban life through guided visits.

Twelve farmhouses in Gipuzkoa, part of a total of fifteen Basque rural estates, will open their doors on July 3rd and 4th for the eleventh edition of the 'Ongi etorri baserrira!' program.

The initiative, promoted by the agrarian organization Enba, aims to build bridges between the world of the farmhouse (caserío) and urban life. Interested individuals must register for the visits by June 30th.
On Friday, July 3rd, visits in Basque will take place in Beizama, at the Oiarbi-Saletxe farmhouse, where Limousin cows and pigs can be seen, and a children's workshop will be held. In Oñati (Arantzazu), the Gomiztegi farmhouse will showcase sheep and cheese. In Tolosa, Balerdipeko Erleak offers activities related to beekeeping. Visits in Spanish will be in Urnieta, at the Eula farmhouse (apple trees and cider) and the Adarrazpi farmhouse (sheep, cheese, and curd).
On Saturday, July 4th, the Basque-language events will be held in Aralar, at Borda Buruntzuzin, visiting a shepherd's hut located in the Arritzaga area. In Asteasu, the Iturta Sarobe farmhouse (dairy cows-sheep-cheese) can be explored, with a children's workshop also planned. In Donostia, the Pokopandegi farmhouse (dairy cows and Goenaga yogurts) will be visited. In Elgoibar, the Mausitxa farmhouse (sheep, Idiazabal cheese, and beef cattle) and in Ordizia, the Arramendi farmhouse (dairy cows and sheep). Tolosa will have another opportunity at Balerdipeko Erleak. Spanish-language visits will take place in Errezil, at the Basabe Barrena farmhouse (apple trees and farmhouse bread), and in Zarautz, at Txakoli Mokoroa.
