The Donostia City Council has announced that the 25th edition of the Media Donosti half marathon, taking place this Sunday, April 14, will lead to traffic closures in the neighborhoods of El Antiguo, Gros, and the Center from 9:40 AM to 1:00 PM.

The 25th edition of the Media Donosti race is scheduled for this Sunday, traversing the main streets of the Gipuzkoan capital. Consequently, the Donostia City Council has issued a warning about traffic disruptions between 9:40 AM and 1:00 PM, primarily affecting DBus lines passing through the neighborhoods of El Antiguo, the Center, and Gros.
The half marathon, featuring two distances (10 and 21 kilometers), will commence at the Boulevard. The city council has stated that journeys on affected bus lines will be free of charge from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The starting and finishing area at the Boulevard, specifically the section between Legazpi and Hernani streets, will be closed from 6:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
From this point, over seven thousand registered runners will head towards the El Antiguo neighborhood via Hernani, Andia, and Miramar streets, and the Paseo de La Concha, which will be closed from 9:45 AM to 12:30 PM. Traffic heading towards the city center will be diverted from the Zumalakarregi and Satrustegi roundabout towards Mikeletes and Pío Baroja.
In El Antiguo, runners will pass along Zumalakarregi and Tolosa avenues (left lanes) and Ibaeta square, where they will turn around to retrace their steps back to the Center. After passing through the Ondarreta tunnel, they will proceed along the Paseo de la Concha towards San Martín, the Paseo de Los Fueros (house side), España square, and the Paseo de la República Argentina (right lane). They will cross into Gros via the Zurriola bridge and run along Zurriola (left lane) and Navarra avenues. They will turn at the roundabout near José Arana and return to the Boulevard via the aforementioned avenues and bridge, as well as the bus lane on Reina Regente street.
Due to the traffic closures, entry and exit routes for various neighborhoods will be altered, as communicated by the City Council. To leave Ondarreta or Igeldo, traffic must use Zumalakarregi and Tolosa avenues. Those wishing to exit Ibaeta should head towards Ibaeta square, from where they can connect to their desired direction via Tolosa avenue towards Añorga, via Lugaritz towards Amara, or from Zarautz street towards Antiguo.
Conversely, to access Berio or Paseo Arriola, one must go through América square, Tolosa avenue, Ibaeta square, Bernardo Estornes, Lautximinieta square, and Paseo Berio. Residents of El Antiguo may use the right lane of Zumalakarregi or Tolosa avenues. Buses and residents wishing to access Igeldo or Ondarreta can do so via the extension of Matía and divert at the turn before the El Antiguo tunnel. Sagües residents can enter and exit via Navarra-Rodil-Alexandria-Zemoria-Navarra-J.M. Barandiarán avenue.
To access the port area or roads adjacent to Kanpandegi street, one must travel via Colón-Santa Catalina-República Argentina-Paseo de Salamanca–Soraluze–31 de agosto–Mayor–Ijentea. To access the Center, residents of the area between San Marcial and the Boulevard will enter via the Paseo del Árbol de Gernika, Fueros street, and Etxaide. Meanwhile, residents of the perimeter of Urbieta, Zubieta, and San Bartolomé streets must enter via Miraconcha. Finally, anyone wishing to enter any point within the circuit (Paseo Nuevo, port, or Sagües) may do so by following the instructions of the organization or traffic agents.
