The town of Legazpi will serve as the host for the Basque Country Absolute Chess Championship for the third year in a row, starting this Wednesday. The reception for the event will take place at Agirre Etxeberri at 16:30, where the tournament will be held until Sunday.
The championship will officially open with an honorary aurresku, followed by speeches from Miguel Ángel Muela, president of the Basque Chess Federation, representatives from the Town Council, and members of the Santikutz club. An honorary first move will mark the official start, with the initial games commencing at 17:00.
Regarding the game schedule, Thursday will feature two rounds at 10:00 and 17:00. On Friday, games will resume at 17:00. Over the weekend, matches are scheduled for Saturday at 10:00 and 17:00, and on Sunday at 10:00.
