The Goieki development agency will launch the 29th New Business Initiatives Competition in the coming weeks, divided into three categories. This year, its main objective is once again to foster entrepreneurship, innovation, and social inclusion. The deadline for submitting projects will be open until the end of September.
This competition was established three decades ago to promote innovative ideas in the Goierri region, during a time of economic hardship and high unemployment. Both Goieki and the valley's socio-economic stakeholders committed to fostering innovation, and the award has received support from various sponsoring companies over the years.
The competition features three categories: best new business initiative project, best innovative project developed within a company, and best social inclusion project through entrepreneurship. The first category, which promotes business development, job creation, and wealth, was won last year by the company SIAPS for a project based on artificial vision and thermography.
The second category focuses on promoting entrepreneurship and innovation within companies. Last year, the company Iparragirre Eraikuntzak from Idiazabal received this award. A benchmark in the construction and renovation sector, the company developed an innovative project to address process industrialization and talent development.
Finally, the third category promotes social inclusion through entrepreneurship, aiming to provide a boost to individuals facing difficulties in entering the workforce. Last year, TK Studio Pilates center in Ordizia was the winner with a project to create a specialized space for physical and mental health.
The winner of the first category will receive a prize of 6,000 euros, with an additional 3,000 euros if it is a cooperative business. Furthermore, winners will benefit from visibility, the opportunity to be located in Goieki's business incubator, and access to services, as well as advice and follow-up during the initial years.
