The Gipuzkoa Provincial Historical Archive, located in Oñati, will open its doors from June 8th to 12th for International Archives Week.

The main objective of this initiative is to introduce citizens to the space that safeguards, preserves, and disseminates the territory's documentary heritage. Tours will cover various areas of the archive, including restricted-access zones such as the vaults, the workroom, and the restoration workshop. Additionally, original documents dating from the 15th to the 20th century will be displayed, particularly those related to justice and rights violations.
Two guided tours will be held daily: one at 11:00 AM and another at 5:00 PM. Tours will be available in both Basque and Spanish and will last approximately one and a half hours.
Participation requires prior registration. This can be done by phone (943 41 50 60), email (ahpg-gpah@gipuzkoa.eus), or by completing the form available on the archive's website.
