The Gipuzkoa Prosecutor's Office has archived the case against a teacher from the Xenpelar bertso eskola due to a lack of "evidence" or "sufficient complaints." The Bertsolari Association and feminist movements in Errenteria and Oiartzun (Gipuzkoa) have repeatedly stated that their goal was to make a "public denunciation," not to initiate a judicial process against the teacher.
The judicial process for the case began on June 4, when the Errenteria City Council handed over all information it had regarding the matter to the Prosecutor's Office for Minors. The following day, June 5, Mayor Aizpea Otaegi testified before the prosecutor's office to confirm the documentation. The opposition in Errenteria used the case to criticize the council's response as "insufficient."
In fact, during a press conference held on Friday, the Oarsoaldea Feminist Assemblies denounced that some political parties "instrumentalized" the case and joined the "reactionary wave." The aggressions by teachers at the Xenpelar bertso eskola were reported and denounced on May 28 by the Bertsolari Association and the feminist movements of Errenteria and Oiartzun (Gipuzkoa). The first aggression occurred in 2018, and the Bertsolari Association initiated an internal process. However, the Oarsoaldea Feminist Assembly became aware of another aggression and issued a public statement.
