Gipuzkoa Experiences Summer-like Week with Highs of 32 Degrees

Sunny skies and high temperatures will dominate in Gipuzkoa this week, although isolated thunderstorms are possible.

Gipuzkoa is experiencing a summer-like week, with temperatures reaching up to 32 degrees inland and predominantly sunny, clear skies.

This week, the skies over Gipuzkoa have taken on a summer feel, with high temperatures and bright sunshine. Since last weekend, the weather across the territory has been marked by sun and clear skies, with pleasant temperatures inviting people outdoors, even for a day at the beach. Many took advantage of Tuesday to swim at Gipuzkoa's beaches, such as in Donostia, where maximum temperatures soared to 27 degrees. A large number of people filled the city's sandy areas and promenades throughout the day.
The mercury also registered high values in inland Gipuzkoa. Zizurkil recorded the maximum temperature this Tuesday, reaching 32 degrees. Almost all regions and municipalities in the heart of the territory saw temperatures around 30º, and they were exceeded in areas like Oñati, Azpeitia, Beasain, and Arrasate.
Although the sun will be the main feature for much of the week, from Tuesday afternoon onwards, clouds and stormy showers are expected, which could be accompanied by hail and gusty winds, especially in inland Gipuzkoa. A yellow alert has been activated between 6:00 PM and 11:59 PM, extending across all of Euskadi, due to the risk of exceeding 15 liters per square meter. Furthermore, it warns that these showers may come with hail (2-4 centimeters) and wind gusts of between 60 and 100 kilometers per hour.
According to the forecast from the Basque Meteorology Agency (Euskalmet), the weather will remain sunny in Gipuzkoa this Thursday. Some low clouds are expected, especially on the Cantabrian coast, but temperatures will continue to be very pleasant. Thermometers will show maximums of 20 degrees in coastal areas and will approach 25º in inland municipalities such as Arrasate.
Thursday will again be hot in Gipuzkoa, almost summery. Maximum temperatures will rise again across the territory, especially inland. Arrasate will once again exceed 25 degrees, and several municipalities will again approach 30º. The increase will not be as pronounced in coastal areas, where temperatures will again be above 20 degrees, though not reaching 25.
For Friday and the weekend, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts cloudy skies and precipitation, so instability is expected to return to Gipuzkoa after a summer-like week.
