The Usurbil City Council has approved the inclusion of a new line within its 2026-2028 Strategic Grant Plan to ensure the continuity of commercial establishments. An analysis predicts the closure of many small businesses in Usurbil within the next 5-10 years. This new line aims to promote succession and knowledge transfer, with a budget of 35,800 euros.
In addition, the Usurbil City Council has published definitive and provisional resolutions for other grant calls. These include aid for those who have completed Euskera courses (15,782.87 euros), for those who have completed courses to become leisure monitors or directors (4,277.50 euros), and grants aimed at entrepreneurs to start a new economic activity in a vacant commercial premises.
In the sports sector, the provisional resolution for grants to develop non-competitive sports projects has been approved, divided into four lines: special aid (6,000 euros), for team technical training (1,000 euros), for basic health check-ups for athletes (5,000 euros), and for participation in extracurricular sports activities (5,000 euros). A total of 60,000 euros will be distributed for the execution of regular programs by sports clubs, and 2,000 euros for sports activities not carried out by sports clubs.
In the social services area, aid for treatments to improve the health status of minors with disabilities or dependency is being processed, although initially no applications were submitted. For projects in the social services area, 13 applications have been approved, with aid amounting to almost 12,000 euros.
In the cultural sector, 72 actions for the development of cultural projects will be supported with nearly 80,000 euros. For projects for cultural creation, 8,250 euros will be distributed among three applications. For agricultural and livestock projects, 17 applications have been approved, with aid totaling 17,404.91 euros.
Regarding housing, two applications for rental housing have been approved, while five others were rejected. The call for the installation of elevators in homes has been closed due to a lack of applications. For environmental projects, two applications have been approved, with a total aid of 7,008.25 euros.
