The Donostia City Council has reported 60 potential violations by Uber services in the city to the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council, concerning urban displacements that do not comply with current regulations.

Through specialized software, the city council has recorded and analyzed the travel itineraries carried out by the Uber system. This analysis has revealed 60 alleged infractions in urban journeys that, according to current regulations, should not be performed.
This information has been forwarded to the Provincial Council, which will now decide on the appropriate actions and the potential opening of a sanctioning procedure. The need for coordinated work between both institutions has been emphasized to provide a clear response to the sector.

"What concerns me is providing a good taxi service as a city. And that is what we are going to commit to with the taxi sector as well."

The City Council and the Provincial Council have committed to establishing an inter-institutional work protocol so that each administration knows how to act, in a coordinated manner, with the aim of offering certainty to the taxi sector.
