The Arrasate City Council has initiated a campaign to encourage residents to file their 2025 tax returns in Basque, reinforcing the positive trend identified by the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council.

According to data from the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council, 21% of Arrasate residents filed their 2025 tax returns in Basque. This figure represents a 15-point increase since 2006, demonstrating a growing use of Basque in this administrative process.
In this context, the Arrasate City Council aims to invite those citizens who have not yet taken the step to file their tax returns in Basque. The initiative, according to the council, not only opens new avenues for the Basque language but also promotes the Basque-ization of the administration.
There are three main ways to file tax returns: the self-assessment proposal, the mechanized method, and online submission. Basque can be used in all these options, offering a wide choice to taxpayers.
The deadline for submitting returns is from April 7 to July 2. To request an appointment, make inquiries, or receive clarifications, citizens can call 943 11 30 00, visit the Bergara Tax Office (Toki Eder 5), or consult the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council's website (www.gipuzkoa.eus).
